George A. Wilcox, who lived here a short time in the house now owned by Charles English, died on Monday in Crawfordsville. He was in poor health while here and almost blind, and afterwards suffered a paralytic stroke. His first wife was a daughter of Mrs. Cynthia Yaryan and a sister of Sam and George. - kbz

George Wilcox, one of the widest known men of Montgomery County died at his home on Vance Street in this city Monday near the noon hour following an extended illness. Mr. Wilcox suffered a stroke of paralysis a year ago and has been in a gradual decline in health since that date. The deceased was a son of Levi Wilcox, one of the prominent farmers of the county. He was born and reared in Ripley Township in this county and was 65 years of age at the time of his death. In later years he has dealt extensively in horses and was known far and wide as a good judge of stock. Mr. Wilcox was twice married. He is survived by the widow and two sons, Harry and Clifford. One brother, JH Wilcox lives in Florida. Four sisters also survive. They are: Mrs. Laura Blaine and Mrs. William Clark of Tuscola, Ill. Mrs. Meeker of Lafayette and Mrs. JR Gilkey of this city. The funeral services will be held at the late home on Vance Street Thursday at 2:30 p.m. - kbz
